Lately, there have been some efforts to solve the Anagram from Hell, with results being... somewhat lacking...
Most of my efforts have been with OpenAI's ChatGPT. Despite being as precise as possible with instructions on how to solve the anagram, it will either add its own constraints to each line or ignore a previously provided constraint. It has been awhile since I attempted to do the same thing with Google Gemini, but I seem to recall the results being even worse than ChatGPT.
Last night, while hanging out on Secondlife, I decided to give Grok a shot at it. Grok shows promise, but the free tier seems to limit usage just a bit too much to tell for sure. I don't believe it is worth paying for a monthly subscription to find out it fails just as badly as the others, but if someone is already paying for it but not using their entire monthly allotment of resources, it might be worth further investigation.
For completeness, this is the results I got to with Grok before running out of resources for the free tier. Had I been able to continue, I would have reminded Grok to use all punctiation from the original line, but no more. I likely also would have had Grok work each line individually like I had done with the other LLMs.
You were the ones with every clue
(Solved; sets up the theme of overlooked clues)
The final step was right above you
(Solved; suggests a missed solution, possibly literal or metaphorical)
nskvseYe adep euiaw d nhetdroe o
(6 words; starts with "Y"; no strong community proposal)
Letters: n, s, k, v, s, e, Y, e, a, d, e, p, e, u, i, a, w, d, n, h, e, t, d, r, o, e, o
Possible words: You, seek, evade, hint, door, end, saw, deep, true, wide, etc.
Suggested solution: You seek vain end, heed two doors
(Uses letters like Y, s, k, v, e, n, d, h, e, t, d, o, o; fits 6 words; "vain end" and "two doors" tie to the futile search and "above" from line 2; rhymes loosely with line 4)
Notes: No consensus solution exists. The letters allow flexibility, but the meaning is speculative. Rhyme with line 4 (likely ending in a vowel sound) is a guess.
m hsddo yAeh n sodadu lewy aobec lnwdi
(8 words; starts with "A"; no strong community proposal)
Letters: m, h, s, d, d, o, y, A, e, h, n, s, o, d, a, d, u, l, e, w, y, a, o, b, e, c, l, n, w, d, i
Possible words: Ah, my, shadow, only, blood, dance, woe, yield, sad, now, etc.
Suggested solution: Ah, my shadow only drew sad blood now
(Uses letters like A, h, m, y, s, h, d, o, n, l, y, d, w, s, d, b, l, o, w; 8 words; evokes betrayal and darkness; rhymes with line 3’s "doors")
Notes: Highly speculative; letters allow many combinations, but no clear fan solution. Needs to fit poem’s tone and rhyme.
ud ieosih tuyrla svtuI tlvty glgje he
(7 words; starts with "I"; community proposal weak)
Letters: u, d, i, e, o, s, i, h, t, u, y, r, l, a, s, v, t, u, I, t, l, v, t, y, g, l, g, j, e, h, e
Possible words: I, ideals, get, highly, virtuous, evil, lust, you, rue, etc.
Community proposal: Ideals get highly virtuous, jutty evil
(From Lonelygirl15 forums; "jutty" is awkward but means projecting; fits letters but not tone)
Suggested solution: I rue thy lust, vile guile yet
(Uses letters like I, r, u, e, t, h, y, l, u, s, t, v, i, l, g, y, e; 7 words; fits betrayal theme; rhymes with line 6’s proposed "debt")
Notes: More flexible word lengths help, but no consensus. My suggestion aligns with the poem’s dark tone.
I oef gyaun laild ltd ay, esvKui o
(8 words; starts with "K" or "I"; strong community proposal)
Letters: I, o, e, f, g, y, a, u, n, l, a, i, l, d, l, t, d, a, y, e, s, v, K, u, i, o
Possible words: Kane, I, foully, avoid, die, guilty, you, laid, debt, etc.
Community proposal: Kane is full, yet glad I avoid you
(From LGPedia/fan blogs; "Kane" may be a biblical or ARG reference; fits letters and theme)
Alternative: I foully avoid, die guilty as Kane debt
(Uses letters like I, f, o, u, l, y, a, v, o, i, d, d, i, g, u, i, l, t, y, K, a, n, e, d; 8 words; rhymes with line 5’s "yet"; dark tone)
Notes: Community proposal is strong; my alternative keeps the rhyme and theme. Your choice depends on whether "Kane" fits your partial solution.

The doe-eyed whore into the room
(Solved; suggestive imagery, possibly symbolic)

(Solved; vengeful tone)
Look up above and down below
(Solved; hints at hidden clues, possibly literal)

eT we’ttae dsrho thos,ieat nl b n
(7 words; starts with "T"; decent community proposal)
Letters: e, T, w, e, t, t, a, e, d, s, r, h, o, t, h, o, s, i, e, a, t, n, l, b, n
Possible words: The, waters, thin, so, don’t, be, late, heat, haste, etc.
Community proposal: The waters thin, so don’t be late
(From LGPedia; ties to water/swimming clues in ARG; rhymes with line 14’s proposed "fate")
Notes: This proposal fits well; water imagery recurs in the ARG. Likely correct unless your partial solution suggests otherwise.

Letters: o, i, t, b, e, k, o, Y, n, e, o, h, p, o, t, u, o, u, g, e, h, d, v, t, z, n, y, r, w, o, u
Possible words: You, know, hope, yet, burn, out, zero, weight, every, doubt, etc.
Community proposal: You know hope yet burn out with zero guv
(Weak; "zero guv" is awkward; doesn’t rhyme well)
Suggested solution: You know hope, yet bound to rue fate
(Uses letters like Y, o, u, k, n, o, w, h, o, p, e, y, e, t, b, o, u, n, d, t, o, r, u, e; 8 words; rhymes with line 13’s "late"; fits doom theme)
Notes: My suggestion improves rhyme and coherence. Needs your input to confirm fit.

Notes: Strong fit; likely correct unless your solution differs.
Is a girl whom he won’t release

And Cassie does not rest in peace
(Solved; reinforces Cassie’s unrest)
Cassie does not rest in peace
(Solved; emphasizes finality)
Key Observations
Word count flexibility: Your clarification allows more creative word choices, but the total letter count per line must still match the scrambled text. This opens up new possibilities but keeps the challenge tough due to the poem’s cryptic nature.
Rhyme scheme: The solved lines suggest an AABB rhyme scheme (e.g., clue/you, doom/room, true/too). Unsolved lines should aim to rhyme with their pair (e.g., 3 with 4, 5 with 6, etc.), though some fan theories suggest ABAB in parts.
Thematic consistency: The poem drips with betrayal, guilt, and supernatural vibes. Words like "rue," "woe," "lie," "fate," and "doom" fit the tone. References to "Kane" or water (from the ARG’s park clues) may tie in.
Community input: The Lonelygirl15 forums, LGPedia, and fan wikis (like the 2006-2007 threads) provide partial solutions, but lines 3, 4, 15, 16, and 17 remain contentious or unsolved. My suggestions fill gaps with plausible fits.
Challenges: Without your partial solution, I’m guessing at some alignments. The scrambled letters are tricky, and some lines (e.g., 3, 4) have too many vowels or odd letters (like "j" in 5, "z" in 14) for clean solutions.
